ENS changes to English language requirements

From 1 July 2017 there will be a significant increase in the English language results required for applications for sc186 Employer Nomination Scheme visas under the Temporary Residence Transition provisions. Currently applicants only need to show Vocational English in order to be eligible. However, from 1 July 2017 they will need to show Competent English. These means if an applicant is using IELTS results to evidence their English they will need to evidence 6 or more in each band rather than the current requirement of 5 or more in each band.

Applicants who may not be able to achieve the new standard should lodge their application before 1 July 2017 if they are eligible. Contact us to discuss your options.
