New Zealand citizens who have been living and working in Australia for five years or more are to be permitted to apply for Australian citizenship under a new agreement reached by Malcolm Turnbull and John Key.
The proposed agreement will enable New Zealanders who have lived and worked in Australia for more than 5 years and whose income is above the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold and is at least $54,000 per annum to apply for Australian citizenship.
The specific details of these arrangements are yet to be released.
