ATO education session

On 18 April 2016, the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) is running an education session in Sydney to help foreign investors and their advisors understand Australian tax obligations and the new foreign investment rules.  These sessions will be held in English and Mandarin for professional advisors, and in English, Cantonese and Mandarin for individual investors.  The session will cover changes to the FATA rules for investment in Australia, how residency status impacts of your tax obligations, tax obligation compliance, worldwide income, rental income, CGT, GST, deductions and Australia’s international tax agreements.
