Work and Holiday visa holders get a second chance

Since 19 November 2016 holders of a Subclass 462 Work and Holiday visa can apply for a second subclass 462 visa if they have carried out certain work in certain areas of Australia, as sc417 Working Holiday makers have been able to do for some time. The work includes work undertaken in agriculture, forestry, fisheries, tourism and hospitality industries in the Northern Territory and northern part of Western Australia and Queensland. This is broader than the qualifying work for a second sc417 Working Holiday visa which does not include work such as tourism and hospitality. Work and Holiday visa holders should be planning ahead to ensure that they qualify by the end of their current visa.
