As discussed previously, there are significant changes to the partner visa application process. These changes will commence on 17 April 2019.
From 17 April 2019 sponsors for partner visa will need to be approved prior to the visa application being able to be lodged. It is uncertain how long this approval process will take. Therefore all onshore partner visa applications should be lodged, if possible, prior to this date where the visa applicant is in Australia on a temporary visa with an imminent expiry date.
