Citizenship grants increase

The processing of Australian citizenship by conferral applications has improved over the previous 12 months. The Minister has announced that between 1 July 2018 and 31 May 2019 132,000 citizenship by conferral applications have been approved. This has increased from 70,000 in the same period last year.

However, there remain 221,695 applications for citizenship by conferral in the pipeline with 75% of applications taking up to 14 months from application to decision.
