Finally some good news for partner visa applicants. In the Federal Budget handed down in October the government has announced a temporary increase in the allocation of places under the partner visa program. In 2019-20 there were 39,799 visas available. However for 2020-21 this has been increased to 72,300, a significant increase. This will see a reduction in processing times which is great news for applicants.
In order to avoid further delays we recommend that all partner visa applicants ensure that their application is now decision ready, including medical assessments having been finalized and all police check certificates having been provided.
