NSW announces quarantine free travel
The NSW Government has announced that, from 1 November 2021, people arriving in NSW from overseas who are fully vaccinated will not need to quarantine. They must:
- have a COVID-19 test after arrival, and
- provide proof of full vaccination as recognised by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), and
- have their vaccination status certified by the Commonwealth.
People who are not fully vaccinated must continue to quarantine for 14 days and the cap on arrivals will apply to these travellers.
While this news is welcome this does not impact on Australia’s current border closures and does not mean that temporary visa holders are now able to travel to Australia without an exemption, which will only be granted in very limited circumstances.
