Working holiday makers allowed to work for longer
Working holiday makers have condition 8547 imposed on their visa. This limits them to a maximum of six months work with any one employer. As a result of COVID the Government has announced a new concession which allows working holiday makers to work for the same employer for longer than six months in the period 19 January 2022 to 31 December 2022 without breaching this condition.
This concession is designed to assist with the severe skills shortages being suffered by many businesses reliant on working holiday makers and student visa holders.
This concession applies to holders of either a:
· Subclass 417 Working Holiday visa, or
· Subclass 462 Work and Holiday visa.
